Over Wintered 5 Frame Nucs

These nucs are made up late in the summer during the prior year, allowing them to establish a strong foundation before the winter months arrive. This careful timing ensures they develop into a robust colony, fully primed and ready to take off in the spring, and potentially providing a significant honey crop as they capitalize on the blooming flowers of the season. Each nuc comes with a Pro Nuc box for convenient transportation, ensuring that you can easily relocate your new bees without stress or disruption. The design of the box facilitates airflow and security, making it an excellent choice for both novice and experienced beekeepers as they expand their apiaries.

Brood Frame

Price: $35

I offer frames of brood to anyone in need of a quick boost or assistance with a struggling colony, understanding how crucial it can be to revive and strengthen your hives during challenging times. These frames of brood will contain capped brood on both sides, ensuring that the bees adhering to them are healthy and ready to thrive as they assimilate into your colony. I also provide a nuc box equipped with empty frames to facilitate the safe transport of the brood to your apiary. It’s important to me that the transition is as smooth as possible for both the bees and the beekeepers, so I do ask that the box be returned after use to maintain our supply and continue supporting others in our beekeeping community. With this service, I hope to foster collaboration and resilience among fellow beekeepers while helping ensure the success of our beloved bees.

2026 Nucs

These nucs are basically the same as the over-wintered nucs but are made up using either Strachan Apiaries New World Carniolian queens or Steven Coy Russian Queens. Both are fantastic choices and are ideal for our PNW climate, where the unique weather patterns and floral diversity greatly benefit these bee populations. The New World Carniolian queens are known for their excellent foraging abilities and strong winter survival traits, making them particularly suited for this region. On the other hand, the Russian queens exhibit remarkable resistance to varroa mites, a common concern among beekeepers, allowing them to thrive where other strains might struggle. By choosing either of these superior queens for our nucs, beekeepers can ensure a robust and healthy colony that will not only survive but also flourish throughout the year, contributing to both local pollination efforts and honey production.
